Our purpose at WORD Fellowship is found in our name:

Jesus is the WORD

The Bible is the written WORD

WORD is an acronym outlining our vision

Worship           To love and serve Jesus

Outreach          To help those in need

Redemption     To proclaim a life changing faith

Discipleship       To teach, equip, and to send

Fellowship          To assemble together as family

WORD Fellowship is about being followers of Jesus together. Jesus taught three primary themes to explain what it meant to be his follower. We believe those themes should still be priority today.

The Great Commandment:  to love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength.

The Golden Rule:  to do unto others as you would have them do to you and to love your neighbor as yourself.

The Great Commission:  to introduce others to Jesus, and to teach them His ways and His will.

The “O” in our name is for “outreach“. Outreach is a way of describing love in action; such as, feeding the hungry, giving drink to the thirsty, clothing the naked, giving shelter to the homeless, and visiting those who are sick or imprisoned (Matthew 25:31-46).

Like the Good Samaritan, we do not want to bypass those who are in the ditches of life; who have been robbed, stripped, and beaten in many ways. Instead we want to go to those who are hurting, care for their wounds and help them to a safe place of healing. So here at WORD Fellowship, we give one third of our income directly to missions and to helping those in need.
